I have been asked so many times if I offer coaching, I have decided to make my workshops global and custom designed to work one-on-one. “How to Create a Dynamic and Effective Newsletter (print and/or electronic)”: Whether you are creating a newsletter to market yourself or your group, to inform and share information, or to further the appreciation for your passion, you will learn how to capture your audience using practical techniques. Learn, examine and discuss the necessary elements of a successful newsletter and the differences between print and electronic newsletters. Explore the technique (including content, writing, style, layout, design, printing/e-mailing and public relations) that work together to produce a winning publication. And, finally you will create a rough draft that you can use to start your own newsletter. The coaching will consist of your receiving a helpful handout and a guiding questionnaire, a short introductory phone call to establish your direction, and two 45 minute phone calls. The total cost will be only $97. If interested, e-mail me at chris@creativekeys.net with “How to Create a Dynamic and Effective Newsletter” in the subject line. Or give me a call at (216) 991-8428 Note:

Theme – ZONE __________________________________________________ “That's the best thing about writing, when you're in that ZONE, you're porous, ready to absorb the solution.” - Michael Chabon , American author When I picked “ ZONE ” for this week's issue, I was thinking about the ZONE that Michael Chabon is writing about. When we are so involved and passionate about what we are doing we lose complete track of time and anything else that is happening around us. It has also been referred to as “being in the state of flow.” However, when I started investigating zone quotations, I was reminded of comfort ZONES – which can be both helpful and detrimental – and other types of ZONES . I will not use the quotations about war ZONES , and, thankfully, there weren't many. I do want to question the good and the bad of comfort ZONES . Yes, we can rely upon our comfort ZONES too much and therefore lose the benefits that result from taking risks. And yet, I submit to you that maintaining and using certain comfort ZONES can establish rewarding routines. For example, I was watching a “productivity” video presented by one of my favorite gurus, Eben Pagan. He extolled the virtues of establishing healthy routines – especially the first hour of the morning. I teach fitness classes five days a week and even though I am working hard physically, I am in one of my comfort ZONES . Nothing wrong with that considering the great payoff! _________________________________________________ (2) Three Articles Featured This Week Visit

to read, " Use the Power of ‘Signature Stories' to Enliven Your Presentations.” __________________________________________________ (3) Creativity – The Other Side and a Different Take on Comfort ZONES – Creative Dreams “A dream is your creative vision for your life in the future . You must break out of your current comfort ZONE and become comfortable with the unfamiliar and the unknown.” - Denis Waitley , American writer Wait a minute, Chris! You just suggested the advantages and benefits of having and using comfort ZONES , and now you are suggesting, via Denis Waitley, to break out. Remember that everything – a goal, intention, or dream – has an opposite. I know so many , including myself, who may have that creative vision but don't break out of their current comfort ZONE. Why? Oh! We have lots of reasons and excuses. Basically, it all comes down to fear of the unfamiliar and the unknown. We may not even realize that we are uncomfortable with taking the risk. I am challenging you and me to go for the dream. When we are pursuing it, we will be in an incredible and rewarding ZONE. And, do let me hear from you and how it works out! __________________________________________________ (4) Powerful Presentations – Get into the End ZONE - Expect that Standing Ovation and Exuberance from Your Listeners “Act like you expect to get into the end ZONE .” - Christopher Morley , American author I love Morley's statement because it can refer to any and all endeavors. When we truly expect and visualize success , we will have the thrill that comes with that success. The operative words here are not only expect, but also visualize. I don't often use sports related metaphors, but this one is perfect because I know that many teams visualize outcomes that help with mindset and winning. So, I suggest visualizing your listeners jumping to their feet , with the excited expressions on their faces. And, I also suggest that you share with them the power of expectation and visualization. They both work! __________________________________________________ _______________ QUOTATIONS_______________

The perfect way to prepare for Fall and Winter! __________________________________________________ (6) Storytelling Power – Storytelling Provides the Artistic ZONE and Beautiful Moment of Passion. “The time of illusion, then, is the beautiful moment of passion; it represents the artistic ZONE in which the poet or romance writer ought to be free to do the very best that he can.” – Lafcadio Hearn , Japanese author What a moving quotation! And, yes, you guessed it. I am substituting the word “storytelling” for illusion and “storyteller” for poet. I am hooked on storytelling, and when I am telling and/or listening to another teller, I am in the artistic ZONE. How about you? I feel that the stories we pick to tell – and they need not be deep or heavy – will create a “beautiful moment of passion” for us and our listeners. We just have to love them – both the stories and the listeners. Be sure to embrace the artistic ZONE . You will never forget the freedom and joy you will experience! __________________________________________________ (7) Freelance Living – Is Our Comfort ZONE in Control of Our Business, Our Lives and/or Our Dreams? “To the degree we're not living our dreams , our comfort ZONE has more control of us than we have over ourselves.” - Peter McWilliams , American writer I was so glad to find this quotation by Peter McWilliams. For years I have referred to his and John-Roger's helpful and wise book, Life 101: Everything We Wish We Had Learned about Life in School – But Didn't. It covers a compilation of self-improvement topics and themes. You will find it at http://tinyurl.com/yhrl6px . I suggest that you really get in touch with your comfort ZONES, both the ones that have control that is holding you back and those that are a help. Time for one of my favorite lists. Divide a sheet or page in half and list your comfort ZONES. Then, describe how they help and/or control you in an unhelpful way. Make a separate list of ways you will change those control habits. You will be amazed by the changes in your life.

Letters and Feedback from You, Our Readers
Dear Chris: As part of my life long learning effort, I have joined the Florida Writers Association and Florida Storytellers Association too. Recently, my continued learning experience includes reading all five-hundred of the Anita Sandararaj Articles and several other informational web site selections. I suggest that you think twice before ever sending an anonymous letter or article to anybody. I say this in jest. You have such a fresh and unique writing style that I seem to know and recognize your work before finishing a read. I have found and recognized your work in several places. I find myself stopping in the middle of an Article or a read to see if you are the Author. I only missed once. It must have been another outstanding writer. Thank you for your many and varied contributions including your weekly newsletter. Yes, you may use this note in your newsletter this time. Toastmaster Steve C from Florida
